Im using my phenom on an asus crosshair, which is indeed a nvidia sli board
currently clocked at 2.45 as 2.5 is a bit wobbly, should be sorted when newer bios available.

ah so phenoms do work on am2 mobo's. i thought the quad core ones needed the AM2+ for the quads to work properly, and they defo havnt made any AM2+ SLI boards yet, they are all ati crossfire so far

do you think, i dont know much about crossfire, i have a 8800 gts which is perfect and when i do upgrade eventually when i get home, i will want to get another one of those coz they will be cheapish then, having two of those should be good enough for any likely future softeware i hope. id like to stay with amds as ive always had them "other than first pc in 1997 which was pentium mmx 233mhz lol, which had problems", never had a problem, + allways been very good. so i will only need mobo and cpu, everything else i can take from current build. have just read that phenoms do work fine on current am2 mobo's, but the AM2+ mobo enables the 4 cores to talk to each other better, it utilizes something in the chip that current AM2 boards dont use or something along those lines

Aye, unfortunately phenoms aint very clockable atm, this 'may' be fixed by newer bios's, but i wouldnt bet on it :/
Gonna get an am+ mobo soon and see if it clocks any better, will use my 6000 in the crosshair, clocks to 3.3 easy
