Hi there,

I have a tech question. Would it be a good idea to have a new area for discussing PC/Console hardware and technical help?

Anyhow, For over a year now, My Klipsch speakers when switched on make the most annoying noise. It is like hearing your hard drive through speakers....! Any ideas? Might just upgrade the sound card to something newer than 4 years old!

Thanks,

somthing for you to try, sound interference like that i think is the same on other things too e.g in a car you may get a problem where you can hear the engine reving through the speakers " as you accelerate the noise becomes higher pitched etc. this sometimes due to a earthing problem and sometimes not. so maybe the pins on the soundcard/motherboard are dirty or loose. try removing then re-installing the card a few times to clean contacts, and make sure its screwed into case tight. this may work may not, wont hurt to try though

if you have onboard sound ignore above wont help

I used to have the same problem with onboard sound. Get a sound card, you can pick a decent one up for less than £20
