I have bought a few games recently  and can recommend:

Metal Gear Solid
Grand Theft Auto
Rainbow 6: 2
Beijing Olympics

Im thinking about getting Battlefield: Bad company soon as well.  Only just bought the Beijing Olympics yesterday though - so ill break my fingers trying to tap the X and O buttons then probably get it.  I was actually surprised how good graphically and gameplay wise how good it actually is.

gta is good.. battlefield is good too.. COD4 is better on PC tbh, but then you already knew that :)
play 'high stakes poker' late in the evening sometimes.. (for fun, not real money) but its quite relaxing and some good peeps on there to chat with.
Skate is good but hard work compared to button bashing dross like Tony Hawks 37.
Still need to find a GOOD footy game.. didnt like FIFA or PES much.

I can highly recommend Beijing 2008.  It is a alot different to the kinda games i usually buy (shooting stuff usually).  So it wasa refreshing change.

I just tried it out playing against somes guys online and you find yourself trying to run the 100m in 3secs - but then again i am highly competitive.

THe only thing that sucks in the game tbh is the Judo, but probably cause i cant get the hang of it.
