Read it and weep!
So long...... oh soooooo long.......... (since before HL1 was actually released! ) have I been waiting for TF2 (Oh no.. Oh nooooo no no! not Valve/Pixar's attempt).
Just hope it not going to be great heaping pile of ......
One for those old enough to remember qwTF. 
(not Valve's attempt with the makeshift TFC either, still think qwTF would be better, not denying a LOT uglier though)
Now where's my flame thrower!!!

| Team Fortress 2 will be a much better game, that's my gut feeling anway. I suppose they want FF out before TF2 just to get anyone playing it all which will be hard once TF2 comes out
Edited for being confused by so many fortresses and teams and and and.... my bain hurts
Basically the Pretty cartoonish one will be better

Have to admit that is quite a good price though, even more so as I get discount across the while Virgin brand.

| What is the [C5] position on this?
I am downloading Fortress Forever right now. I am not really keen on rinsing £15 on TF2, and especially if no one here plays it.
The general feedback so far is that people prefer FF

| I've just had a quick 10 minute go, it simply seems like TFC on Source engine.
Have you bought TF2? I am tempted to write it off, but it would be unfair without playing it.

| TF2 is a hoot, no really - particularly the taunts (e.g. pyro does a Haiduken tiny fireball effect...though it's all muffled cos of the gas mask)Â (PS small writing so Ish doesn't shout at me) 
Fortress Forever captures much of the spirit of the original game and is free

On a slightly more serious note, being an old skool (or should that even be pre skool) qwTF player, it all comes down (as with just about every game I've played) to the feel of the game.
TFC was pretty in it's day, qwTF still played better though.
Have not, and unless I visit someone who is willing to fund Valves Cash Cow, will not be playing TF2 in any future, let alone the near future (unless they take back my HL1 and their broken promises in exchange).
So my opinion is obviously going to be biased fully towards FF.
Only time will tell........
Just to add another thing to think of though.....
Anybody remember richochet... another one of Valves own mods? Nope..? me neither
Community mods FTW! (not for profit ala Valve)
Must say from what I've seen of TF2..... It's not Fortress looking in a true sense.
TF2 to me looks more like sending out Special Forces in clown suits!
At the end of the day it all comes down to personal choice, knowing a lot peeps here are CS players, which is total different format of game altogether, some may not like either.
My choice was made long ago!
