http://www.fileplanet.com/190494/190000/fileinfo/Nvidia---Geforce-Power-Pack-(XP-32)

This is the completely free Geforce Power Pack, a massive pack containing the latest Nvidia Drivers, full PhysX support drivers for your graphics card allowing to take full advantage of PhysX tech without the need of a PhysX card, a map pack for Unreal Tournament 3 containing several PhysX optomized maps, a full free game, several tech demos to show off various next gen graphics and physics effects, and more!

Read below for more details.

Starting today, any owner of a GeForce 8 Series or higher GPU can immediately discover the immersive playability that NVIDIA PhysX technology brings to PC gaming. This first of many planned "GeForce Power Packs" is a fascinating showcase of how PhysX technology is fundamentally changing video games and interactive entertainment.

Available for free, the PhysX-enabled content from this first GeForce Power Pack includes:

* Warmonger-Full free game! Destroy walls, floors, and whole buildings to open up new paths or close existing ones. Destructive power is more than eye candy here-it's a tactical weapon in this ground-breaking action game.
* Unreal Tournament 3 PhysX Mod Pack-includes three maps with amazing effects that fundamentally change the gameplay (requires full version of Unreal Tournament 3)
* A sneak peek at the upcoming Nurien social networking service, based on the Unreal Engine 3 (with built-in benchmark)
* A sneak peek at the upcoming game Metal Knight Zero (with built-in benchmark)
* All new NVIDIA "The Great Kulu" tech demo that showcases the use of PhysX soft bodies in a real game play environment
* All new NVIDIA "Fluid" tech demo-a simulation of realistic fluid effects with a variety of liquids
* Badaboom Media Converter: Beta Version
* Folding@home - Join The Fight Against Cancer

In conjunction with the release of the GeForce Power Pack, NVIDIA has also released new WHQL-certified drivers that enable PhysX acceleration for all GeForce 8, 9, and GTX 200 Series GPUs. This new driver also adds support for PhysX-accelerated features in the commercially available Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 game.

By installing these drivers, GeForce owners can immediately experience much higher levels of interactivity, special effects, and realism on their PC. In addition, GeForce owners will love being able to run PhysX-accelerated applications faster on their GeForce GPU than on competitive GPUs. For example, in the PhysX-enabled levels of Unreal Tournament 3, the GeForce 9800 GTX+ runs 180% faster than on the AMD Radeon HD 4850.

or go to the nvidia website and pick n mix so u can still get the free game and other bits you want with the driver of your choice

sounds like the Vista 64 version is a bit flakey tho so you might wanna hold back...

besides, I didn't realise you were such a hard-disk and bandwidth miser lol

This might sound stupid, but if the card is doing physics calculations then surely the 3D performance is going to take a big hit?

No, doesn't sounds stupid.  Possibly will, but may not - after all a lot of the time your graphic card is shunting textures around memory rather than calculating ('cept for HDR and effects like that) so the spare CPU cycles could be put to other uses.

I expect there will be a bit of a performance hit, but I'm quite happy to install it, try it out and find out

lol im not a bandwidth miser, but 2gb of unneccesary bloatage = almost 3 entire porn films at 700mb.. and thats a LOT of wanking rofl!

the game at about 950mb could be tempting but then i cant see it having long lasting appeal so haven't grabbed it yet.. i can destroy enviroments in other games.. and a physx 'Second Life' style social game.. lol.. no ta..

(i did actually link to all the individual bits on guru3ds webby in an amendment... got halfway then really cba so gave up)

well the free game Warmonger is really some sort of UT3 total conversion effort with big clunky graphics, prolly so the FPS isn't hit too hard by the physics.

It works, and as a concept is great, but it looks like quite a performance hit.  Would be good to know how well it does in a "proper" game like Ghost Recon 2, though as I recall the additional physics stuff in that was more gloss than a fundamental part of the gameplay, otherwise you couldn't play against non-physx players.
