TRIBES was a game that me and Corsair played for about 4 years...we were lucky enough to play at its peak in 2001-02 and kept going until its decline by 05 It was released in 1998 and was a major FPS landmark, not just because it had huge open maps and fast gameplay...but everyone had jetpacks and could move over terrain at a prodigious rate. Anyway, its been free for some time now (the pirate protection was rubbish anyhow) and I found this compilation download of everything you could possibly need. Some people still play it, and although it has a steep learning curve, it is immensely satisfying when you play everything right. Plus it was almost totally customisable and had some of the deepest teamplay you could find. Every member of the team had to do his role and do it well. The most common gametype was CTF, and it led to some pretty intense matches. I was a flag capper and got the golden flag on some close games a few times but the best one I remember was a match between [IL] and .357, they were playing for 1rst place on the ladder...[IL] had the flag and were going to cap but the flag carrier was blocked by a teammate in the last 2 seconds and didn't make it, .357 got the top spot Like I said its hard but intensely fun and rewarding. Plus the voices are funny. And its free! for your own sanity and that of the world in general never ever touch Tribes Vengance, they tried to give the game a story for single player and fagged up the multiplayer, all the servers were laggy as hell

infinte recharge, how eco-friendly is that it just gets used faster than it charges, so you can't fly forever.
