Interesting link.

Western Digital already have these "Advanced Format" drives on the market, running with 64MB Cache. Price wise the 2TB edition (Model Number : WD20EARS)  is currently on scan.co.uk @ £152

With XP in the "Extended Support" phase of it lifespan, M$ is unlikly to release any proper fix for the issues raised so it will be up to the HDD manufactures to supply a utility to sort thing out.
